Your PAX A920pro terminal is preconfigured to start accepting payments right away and will automatically connect to the Telstra 4G network, or you can connect with Wi-Fi.
Charge terminal
Before proceeding with the setup, please connect your PAX A920pro to power. We recommend 4hrs of charge before use.
Power on
To power on, press the power button on the right side of the terminal for about 2s until the display lights up.
Initial Terminal Login
Use the default User Credentials, please see Initial Terminal Login section
Take payments
When the terminal connects to the 4G network, it is ready to take payments.
Power off
To power off, press and hold power button for about 2s, press power off option displayed.
Load paper roll
Power off the terminal and lift the printer door hatch. Insert paper roll with flap facing forward. Pull paper towards terminal. Close the cover.

Filters
The Live Payments PAX A920pro can operate in both integrated mode and standalone mode.
There are three main screens for the PAX A920pro
Launcher Screen
This screen allows the merchant to enter into either integrated mode “POS Connect” or Standalone mode “Payments”
1. Payments should be selected when using the terminal in standalone mode.
2. POS Connect should only be selected if the terminal is connected to a Point of Sale system, where the Point of Sale system is controlling the terminal.
Standalone Payments Home Screen
This screen provides you with the selection of options for standalone payment usage, primarily;
1. Purchase
2. Reprint Receipt
3. Refund (where applicable)
4. Void (where applicable)
5. MOTO (where applicable)
Integrated Payments Home Screen
Integrated mode (POS Connect) should only be selected if the terminal is connected to a Point of Sale system, where the Point of Sale system is controlling the terminal.
To exit out of the Integrated Payments Home Screen simply:
1. Click the function button at the bottom of the screen
2. Enter Function Code 9999 then click the enter button
3. This will then return you to the Launcher Screen
After powering up your Live Payments PAX A920pro, a Login screen will appear.
Live Payments recommends maintaining the current default credentials, as new user features will be release shortly.
Please follow the below steps:
The initial login will require the default user credentials below;
1. Input Default User Credentials
a- User ID – 1234
b- Password – 567890
2. Check the “save credentials” check box
a- If you can check the “Save Credentials” box, which will make the terminal auto-login each time and you will not need to see this screen again (unless logged out).
3. Enter New Password
a- Live Payments recommends utilising the default credentials at this point; therefore input: 567890
4. Re-Enter New Password
a- Reenter: 567890
5. Password will now show changed, and move to the payments screen.
If you forget your password:
1. Please check Initial Terminal Login section to confirm the default credentials.
2. If your still unable to login, please contact Live Payments helpdesk on 1300 780 788
Charging directly from wall socket to terminal:
1. After plugging the wall socket into an available PowerPoint, insert the USB-C Connector to the available USB-C port on the left hand side of the terminal.
2. Confirm the terminal is receiving power and charging, by checking the battery icon on the top right of the screen had a lightning bolt.
Charging via a charging dock
1. Plug the wall socket into an available PowerPoint
2. Flip the charging dock upside down and locate the USB-C port labelled “Power”.
3. Insert the USB-C Connector running from the wall socket into port labelled “power”
4. Run the now connected cable, through the cable management grooves of the base such that when flipped up the correct way, the dock will sit flat on the countertop.
5. Sit the PAX A920pro on top of the charging dock, and confirm that it sits neatly on the dock.
6. Confirm the terminal is receiving power and charging, by checking the battery icon on the top right of the screen had a lightning bolt
a- Please note, that the terminal will automatically pick up terminal charging when it is placed on the dock, and it will drop the charge when removed from the dock. Charge is transferred via the charging pins on the charge dock making connection with the charging contacts on the back of the terminal.
Live Payments recommends prior to utilising your PAX A920pro, to connect your device to your store/shops local Wi-Fi network.
Wifi connectivity typically provides the most stables and fast connection, whilst also enabling the terminal to use the 4G Telstra connection as its fallback (should there be a local internet issue)
To connect to Wi-Fi, follow these steps:
1. From the Payments Home Screen or Standalone Payments Home Screen, click the hamburger menu on the top right of the screen.
2. Select Wi-Fi settings
3. Select the Wi-Fi network that you would like to connect to
4. Enter the Wi-Fi password
5. Press connect
6. Confirm in the Wifi list that the network has connected successfully
Click the android back button at the bottom of the screen to return to the menu.
With your mobile terminal, the following payment types and methods are accepted:
1. Contactless payments (Tap & Go), chip insert and swipe
2. Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and eftpos
3. Google Pay, Apple Pay and Samsung Pay
To take a payment, from the Standalone Payments Home Screen, click on the “Purchase” Icon, then:
1. Enter the transaction amount (A decimal point is not required) and select ‘Done’
2. Ask the cardholder to tap, insert or swipe their card/mobile device
3. If prompted, ask the cardholder to select the Account, enter their PIN and select ‘Enter’
4. If successful, you will see an ‘Approved’ message and depending on your chosen receipt settings, the terminal will print a merchant receipt, or you can select a receipt from the confirmation screen, both merchant and cardholder
To enable surcharging on the terminal, please contact Live Payments Helpdesk.
If you have surcharging enabled, then;
1. When initiating a purchase transaction, a “Surcharging Rates” button will appear on the card presentation screen
2. Click on the Surcharging Rates button
3. The current surcharging rates by card type will appear for the merchant and cardholder to view.
Depending on the surcharge rates that have been requested by the merchant, surcharging will be applied dynamically, where once the customers card has been presented the terminal will;
1. Determine the card type of the card
2. Identify the applicable surcharge rates to be applied
3. Calculate the applicable surcharge fee
4. Apply on top of the transaction amount
5. The cardholder will be charged the transaction amount plus the surcharge fee
It is a merchant’s responsibility to ensure the correct signage, display or communication of any applicable surcharge rates to cardholders.
1. From the Standalone Payments Home Screen, click on the “Admin Menu” tab
2. Click on “Transaction History” Icon
3. Transactions will be in chronological order from top to bottom
Reprinting a receipt
1. Once the transaction has been located, click on the record
2. The details of the transaction will appear, and click the “Reprint Receipt” button
From the Standalone Payments Home Screen;
1. Click on the Admin Menu tab
2. Click on “SYS INFO” icon
3. Then click on “Summary”
4. The terminal will print a receipt
5. You will find the details:
a- MID on the receipt starting with “00002547” and is 14 digits long
b- POS ID is the Terminal ID (TID) starting with “47” and is 8 digits long
There are two ways to restart your terminal
SOFT RESTART
1. To reboot your terminal, hold the power button on the right hand side of the terminal for 2 seconds
2. From the icons that appear, select the “Restart” icon.
3. This icon will then be highlighted in the middle of the screen, click on “Restart” again, to initiate the reboot.
4. The terminal will then restart.
HARD REBOOT
1. If the Soft Restart did not work / or was not responsive, the terminal may require a hard reboot.
2. Turn the Terminal over, and locate the battery cover, which is the cover of the bottom half of the terminal.
3. Slide the battery cover latch to the right, towards the ‘unlock’ icon
4. Lift the cover off
5. Lift the bottom of the battery up off and away from the terminal, this will shut off all power the terminal.
6. Wait 5 seconds, and then reconnect the battery and battery cover, ensuring that the battery latch is slid to the left towards the ‘locked’ icon.
7. Ensure the battery and battery cover is firmly in place and secure prior to further use.
8. Then press and hold the power button on the right hand side of the terminal to turn the device back on.
On the Standalone Payment Homescreen;
1. Click on the hamburger menu in the top right hand corner
2. From the menu options, select “App Settings”
3. You will be presented with options to configure your terminal, with the following options
Screensaver Timeout (sec)
1-120 seconds before the screensaver activates
Print: Merchant First
A on/off selection for printing of customer receipt first
Print: Merchant Receipt
A on/off selection for never printing the merchant copy
Print: Contactless
A on/off setting for contactless receipts
Print: To Screen
A on/off setting to enable printing of all receipts to the screen (as opposed to paper printer)
Auto Logon
Enable or disable the auto login
Auto Logoff
Enable or diable the automatically logging off of the cashier on the terminal
Auto Logoff Timeout (mins)
Time before cashier is logged off, 1-60 (mins)
Date Menu Panel
Enable or disable the date menu panel
Dev Menu
Enable or disable the Dev Menu
Reset to Default
Will restore original settings

1. Click on the “Refund” Icon in the menu
2. Enter the transaction amount (A decimal point is not required) and select ‘Done’
3. Ask the cardholder to tap, insert or swipe their card/mobile device
4. If successful, you will see an ‘Approved’ message and depending on your chosen receipt settings, the terminal will print a merchant receipt, or you can select a receipt from the confirmation screen, both merchant and cardholder
Live Payments have the capability of adding a passcode for Refunds.

Purchase MOTO will only be available on the terminal if the feature has been approved and enabled by Live Payments, if the feature is not enabled and you would like to request the feature, please contact Live Payments Helpdesk
From the Standalone Payments Home Screen
1. Click on the “Purchase MOTO” Icon in the menu
2. Enter the transaction amount (A decimal point is not required) and select ‘Done’
3. Select the type of MOTO transaction, either
a- Mail Order

4- Enter in the card details manually
5- If successful, you will see an ‘Approved’ message and depending on your chosen receipt settings, the terminal will print a merchant receipt, or you can select a receipt from the confirmation screen, both merchant and cardholder

From the Standalone Payments Home Screen
1. Click on the “Refund MOTO” Icon in the menu
2. Enter the transaction amount (A decimal point is not required) and select ‘Done’
3. Select the type of MOTO transaction, either
a- Mail Order
b- Telephone Order
4. Enter in the card details manually
5. If successful, you will see an ‘Approved’ message and depending on your chosen receipt settings, the terminal will print a merchant receipt, or you can select a receipt from the confirmation screen, both merchant and cardholder
Live Payments have the capability of adding a passcode for MOTO.

When enabled, the terminal will;
1. Prompt for “Do you ant to add a tip?” after the transaction amount has been entered
a- The selections available are, no / yes / cancel
2. If ‘Yes’ is selected, the cardholder will be prompted wit the following selections;
Please note:
Only the last transaction can be voided from the terminal.
From the Standalone Payments Home Screen
1. Click on the “Void” Icon in the menu
2. Enter the amount of the last transaction, and done
3. The click the ‘Void Last’
The PAX A920pro has a settlement receipt that can be printed, please note that this ‘running totals’ is not linked to the bank settlement, please use your daily payment report to review transactions that form part of your settlement.
The settlement receipt described below, can be used by merchants as a ‘running total’ of their trading day, as an example, if a business closes at 7pm daily, the cashier may print this settlement receipt daily at 7:05pm to obtain the total amount taken on the eftpos terminal since the last time the receipt was printed.
From the Standalone Payments Home Screen
1. Click on the Admin Menu
2. Click the ‘Settlement’ icon
3. A receipt will print with the totals
To request a automatic cut over time of this running totals receipt, please contact Live Payments Help Desk.
To uphold the highest level of service quality, it's crucial to keep your terminal up to date. Regular updates enhance security, functionality, and performance.
To help this occur, please ensure that:
Keep Terminal on Overnight: Leave your terminal powered on overnight.
Wi-Fi Enabled: Ensure Wi-Fi is active during this period.
1. Select Menu from the menu bar at the bottom of the terminal screen, and then select Function
2. Select Request Support.
3. Enter your query and press Submit.
4. A representative from our support team will be in contact.

The screen will say "PINPAD PAIRING PLEASE ENTER"
This screen is not required if operating the terminal in standalone mode, and therefore use the following steps to disable a setting to stop this screen appearing:
1- Press the Cancel button, when the PINPAD PAIRING screen appears
2- Then navigate your way to the Launcher Screen, this is the screen with "POS CONNECT" and "PAYMENTS" buttons
3- Press the Function button
4- Enter the code, 11112227 then done
5- Click on the "Use Cloud Connection" toggle to ensure that it is off
6- Once the toggle is off, then click the back button
7- To return to the Launcher Screen, press the Function button
8- Enter the code, 9999 then done
9- Then click on the PAYMENTS button to enter back into standalone payments.
Please note you may need to re-enter the User ID and Credentials. See Initial Terminal Login section.
If you or a customer has made a mistake with a transaction, you can immediately void it if applicable. You can also apply for a refund, although you will incur standard transaction fees.
You can access all of your reports and transaction and payment information directly from My Web, our online customer portal, which provides you with a snapshot of transactions, payments and your statement. Login / Register To register, you'll need your Terminal ID, which can be found within your terminal's Settings tab or your payment reports. It usually starts with 47 and is eight digits long.
Printing issues may be related to the battery level of your terminal. If your terminal battery is below 10%, the terminal will print slowly. This occurs so that the connection remains. Plug the device into the power source to recharge the terminal.
Hold the power button on your DX8000 terminal until a screen appears. You will then have the option to restart the terminal.
